Annual National Kindness Week (2019)
Annual National Kindness Week (2019)
The first week of April is National Kindness Week, an effort endorsed by the Ministry of Education to spark a kindness revolution. Campaigns centred on promoting kindness are carried out in schools across Malaysia with the aim to end bullying and cyberbullying.

#StandTogether Kindness Tour 2019 is a collaboration between Digi, R.AGE, UNICEF, SP Setia, Childline and the Ministry of Education to end violence against children. Also supported by Malaysian celebrities such as Harith Iskandar, Lisa Surihani and Chef Wan, the year-long nationwide roadshow impacted 45,000 students from 750 schools, engaged through townhall sessions.

In strengthening our diversity and inclusion commitment, four special townhall sessions were conducted for 80 children from marginalised communities comprising of refugees and indigenous children, and those with hearing, learning, and visual impairments.

CyberSAFE In Schools Competition (2020)
CyberSAFE In Schools Competition (2020)
Organised by Digi in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Google, the competition this year centres on disinformation through audiovisual manipulation such as deepfakes – an emerging risk in the digital space. Deepfakes uses AI or complex technology to manipulate voices, faces and/or images and can be used to cause harm and spread false news, especially on social media.

The competition is part of the CyberSAFE in Schools public-private initiative that begun in 2011 to empower schoolchildren and teachers in addressing rising concerns of online risks.
