- Digi brings back Raja Futsal to unearth more Malaysian futsal talents
- Futsal competition also sees its first futsal female team champion
SUBANG JAYA, 4 OCTOBER 2019 –Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“Digi”) announces that defending champions of Raja Futsal 2018, local Pahang football club Mozai FT, has once again made it to the finals for Raja Futsal 2019, Malaysia’s most-anticipated amateur futsal tournament.
Raja Futsal is one of the many initiatives carried out by Digi to unearth local talent within the futsal scene and bridgelocal communities at the grassroots by connecting them to an integral, well-loved sport that unites Malaysians together.
The competition creates a platform for Malaysians to put their futsal skills to the test and was launched for the first time in 2018 in hopes of finding the best futsal team in Malaysia. Amateur futsal players across the nation stood the chance of earning the grand prize of RM100,000 cash, the largest prize pool for a local futsal competition to date.
During Raja Futsal 2018, 860 teams with over 5,000 participants joined in 6 regions throughout the country with Pahang-born futsal club, Mozai FT bagging the RM100,000 grand prize. The recent East Coast Qualifier in Ferro Futsal Kuantan saw Mozai FT scoring gold yet again.
"We are very satisfied with the results as it is not easy going against younger teams. We hope to be able to defend our title at the upcoming finals and are excited to see what else the competition will bring," said Mohd Alif Fahmin bin Razali,who is the captain of the Mozai FT team.
Mozai FT will be heading into the finals together with Keropok Dungun (1st runner up), AM FT (2nd runner up) and NR Team (2nd runner up).

Alongside Mozai FT scoring the gold, Raja Futsal also gains its first women’ steam champion, Killa FT who earned the title with a lean 7-personteam. 12 teams from each region will take part in fast paced matches for the women’s category to discover the best talent in women futsal.
