Your responsibilities: (What is this role all about? What does the applicant have to do?)
Overall
- Design and plan for expansion of network elements including monitoring under the mandate of Access Transport planning, including but not limited to microwave, satellite, metro and IPRAN, xWDM, fibre optics network and leased lines. Fundamentally knowledgeable in all technology and network elements within Access Transport Planning, and is able to guide and train junior engineers to develop up to par and expectation.
- Play a lead role in project teams, meetings and discussions, guiding junior engineers, participate as tech lead in sourcing initiatives and other related initiatives i.e. OE savings, new technology POC, wherever applicable in the field of access transport planning in order to champion and co-own with the management to drive the division or department's agenda.
- Formulate and drive cross sub section/section/department operational efficiency projects to strive for continuous CAPEX, OPEX and COGS reduction through transmission infra and design optimization. Drive internal customers and external parties to explore and execute. Track outcome and benefits and regularly share the outcome to management.
- Establish strong stakeholder management and communication channel with key stakeholders internally in Digi, within vendors and externally in the industry. Strive to always be aware and on top of issues, and utilize the strong communication channel to influence the outcome of the issues to the benefit of the company.
- Constantly develop relationships with external parties i.e. MCMC, SBC, OLNOs and other parties that may benefit Digi in terms of sharing capabilities to continuously manage and increase cost efficiency.
- Plan for required investment needed to support growth and expansion and provide accurate input to the investment SPOC. Actively participate in reviewing requirements for investment within domain of expertise or region, and participate as SPOC from Access Transport team towards the investment committee.
Responsibilities in various stages of a project as shown below:
- PreSales
- Lead the P.O.C. or testing on products and services, provide report on results and observations to Solution Manager
- Engage and drive internal stakeholder to provide solution on new product or services.
- Implementation phase
- Study and propose End to End network design for every proposed services to customer by working with Network Engineering, Operation, MSP and vendor to deliver E2E network design solutions by applying the right technology
- Drive E2E Technical alignment across Technical Domain and provide interdependency mapping to deliver the service to customer
- Advice on the network integration strategy between customer and internal team
- Provide technical solutions on re-engineering as when required for network or service improvement
- Advice PM and IM on deployment strategy, approach and project issues in a project deployment stage
- Support During Project Phase: Run & drive War Room for technical issue/resolution during project period
- Compile, review and approve all LLD submissions. Forward to Solution Manager, Field Force and Operations for approval
- Support customer on technical matters
- Highlight any deviation during implementation on initial design, timeline or service requirement (after contract signed)
- Review and approve the Internal and customer UAT document
- To support during the UAT and validate UAT result
Business & Technology Stakeholder management
- To facilitate and conduct business solution exploration
- To collaborate within Technology for optimize business solution
- To be main technical contact point for node vendors
- To establish effective and good working-relationships with vendor.
- To ensure vendors comply with DiGi regulations at all times.
- Support Solution Manager in bidding process in providing delivery timeline and resource proposal
Your Merits: (these are must haves in terms of qualifications & experience & specific technical /professionals skills that you want from the applicant)
- Bachelor degree (with honors) in Electronics Engineering
- Degree majoring in Telecommunications is a plus point.
- 5-10 years working experience in the scope of transmission planning and design with a good understanding of Access, Metro and Trunk Transport network.
- Excellent knowledge in transport technologies including but not limited to Microwave, VSAT, IPRAN, xWDM systems, Fibre planning and design, Ethernet & IP Technology and synchronization.
